The opening is planned by the end of 2025

“Help us so that we can continue to help”

Welcome to the Lohe Hospice

The inpatient hospice is aimed at people whose outpatient care at home can no longer be guaranteed due to an incurable illness, even with external support (e.g. family doctor, nursing service, SAPV team, outpatient hospice service). It is open to everyone regardless of nationality, religion or financial situation.

Who we help

Anyone who receives a life-limiting diagnosis is entitled to an inpatient hospice place. This means that the person affected has an incurable disease that will lead to death.

95% of the costs of care in a hospice are currently covered by health insurance companies.

This is part of palliative care. The remaining costs are covered by the hospices through donations. This means there are no costs for those affected and their support.

In order to be able to take advantage of such a place, confirmation of the diagnosis and the need for a hospice place from the treating doctor is essential.

Those with private insurance must clarify with the responsible insurance company in advance whether care in a hospice is part of the range of services and whether the costs will therefore be covered.

What we can do

The work in a hospice is varied. The main focus is on providing dignified work and accompanying those affected in the last phase of their lives.

This also includes:

Accompanying those affected and their relatives. Medical and nursing care, grief counseling, palliative care, fulfilling final needs, holistic care and support in everyday life.

A hospice should therefore create a calm and soothing environment in which the worries of everyday life disappear and the concerns and fears of the future are recognized and respected.

How you can help

Every help counts and everyone is a part of something big

You can volunteer in a hospice, this is essential in hospice work. Volunteers can, for example, support in the kitchen, comfort patients, communicate with relatives, do small gardening tasks, man the reception, go for walks with those affected or carry out other activities.

 Help with donations

There are numerous ways to donate to our hospice. Every donation, no matter how small, helps and contributes to being able to accompany and care for terminally ill people. Your donation will also be transparent.
